So it was announced a wile ago now that Blizzard is working on a long anticipated, yet unexpected Overwatch 2. Not much has been reveled yet regarding new characters and maps etc. However a few new abilities have been showcased at a recent conference.

Mei has ben given two new abilities so far. One of them being a upgrade to cryo-freeze. Where Mei wound normally enter a frozen state, heal and then exit, now she will enter and heal as usual but when she exits she will send a small icy blast around the area that she originally entered the cryo-freeze. This will help counter any player who stands pressed up against her as she’s frozen, waiting to destroy them as they come out to the ice form (you know you do it). Another new ability Mei will have is similar to that of Wrecking Ball’s main power, rolling about the map and being a general annoyance. Mei will be able to roll in an ice ball, ramming into enemies as she goes. This ability wont actually be all that helpful in my opinion but who knows, it might just be a bit of fun.

Genji’s ultimate will be getting a small yet very helpful upgrade. As many of you know, Genji is seen as one of the more difficult characters in Overwatch, that’s why I think this upgrade may end up in you seeing a few more Genji players in your game. When using dragon blade it acts as just a normal sward with little to no range. Well this update give it range. When you swing for a target you will hit them as normal, however, if they are out of range Genji will now shoot a projectile out of the sward. I’m guessing that the damage this will deal will be a bit less than a normal dragon blade attack however no figure has been set in stone.

The final new ability I will be exploring is Tracers new one called chain reaction. This is similar to pulse bomb as she throws a bomb at the target. however it will no longer just blow up. It will now jump between multiple enemies creating… well, a chain reaction. This ability will probably be most useful for PvE rather than PvP. I am unsure as to how much damage this will be, it could eb the same amount as a normal pulse bomb but in my opinion, that could be a bit over powered.
